The idea of a guiding spirit appears in many traditions. A guide may be an angel, an ancestral spirit, a mythological being or even an animal. These spiritual entities are often viewed or called Spirit Guides and are believed to act as intermediaries between the ordinary every day world and the enchanted realm, giving advise and direction throughout our lives. Tales of fairies have often become mingled with tales of witches and sorcery, while angels are generally seen as high and pure spiritual beings that act as messengers, protectors and guides to humans. Which ever figure you choose to work with or acknowledge, will be up to you and will be dependent to some extent on the culture or tradition within which you are working and living within.
